Here’s one of my very favorite recipes of all time. It brings back so many childhood memories of yumminess.
I use this one every holiday because it is simple, and because I can cut it into tiny bite size pieces and store in a beautiful holiday tin to use as party dessert snacks. Just remember you’ll need time to let this one cool all the way down before cuttting into tiny squares successfully. I sure hope you and your family enjoy this one like I do.
INGREDIENTS
Cake:
- 1 18¼-ounce package yellow cake mix
- 1 egg
- 16 tablespoons melted butter, divided in half
Filling:
- 1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 16-ounce box powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Combine the cake mix, egg, and 8 T butter and mix well with an electric mixer. Press the mixture into the bottom of a lightly greased 9×13 baking pan.
- In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the eggs, 8 T butter and vanilla and beat together.
- Next, add the powdered sugar, a little at a time, and mix well.
- Spread over cake batter mixture that you have pressed into your pan, and bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Make sure not to over bake as the center should be a little gooey. (Let cool before cutting)
Yum!!! I am definitely making this… can’t say I will share with family though. Lol. Looks so good!!!
